“Since the first time I hunted with the Jorgensen’s, my idea of a good day of pheasant hunting will never be the same…the bird numbers must be seen to be believed! I love this place and I love these people.”
Jeff Vander Voort
“The Lazy J Lodge is not just a pheasant hunt it’s a tradition. I have pheasant hunted here for five years. The Lazy J continues to exceed my expectations. They have the best habitat, the largest populations of wild birds, and the best accommodations in the Golden Triangle. I wouldn’t host a hunting party anywhere else.”
Reed Leistad
“The Lazy J Grand Lodge is the finest hunting lodge I have ever stayed in. The 2-man rooms and bathrooms are spacious and as nice as any hotel. The meeting rooms are large and you have enough TVs to accommodate all of the guests. The food is good as it gets! They also offer sporting clays to “knock off the dust” before each days hunt. The birds are wild and plentiful. Overall, the Lazy J Grand Lodge is a high quality operation. I highly recommend it to anyone.”
John J. Hollins, Jr.
Our group has been hunting there for many years, and each year we enjoy the Jorgensen hospitality more. They make you feel like family and strive to make every hunt a memorable experience—not just the shooting, but the comfort of the lodge, the superb food, and the friendly people.

The Lazy J Grand Lodge reflects what a family working hard together in harmony can accomplish.  The Lazy J is a spectacular lodge inside and out!  It’s nestled in the breathtaking rolling hills of South Dakota surrounded by various food plots identified by their rich color changes.  Inside the lodge is a very well thought out comfortable atmosphere capable of entertained dozens of people.  The food is plentiful and never disappoints!  If that’s not enough…Cody and his team consistently organize world class pheasant hunts!  If you get a chance to visit the Jorgensen Family at their Lazy J Lodge DO NOT let the opportunity pass you by!

We have had a friends and business group hunt the Jorgensen Farms Lazy J since the opening of the new lodge, and for many years prior with their predecessor. The hunting habitat and farm practices are outstanding and the accommodations and food are first class. The wild bird population is second to none. The Jorgensen are an outstanding family and it doesn’t take long before you will feel you are a part of their family! Service excellence doesn’t even begin to express the high quality experience the Jorgensen family and their outstanding staff provides. If you are looking for a first class hunting adventure for your business, family or friends I assure you that you will not be disappointed with a Lazy J Hunting Experience. I expect to hunt the Lazy J for many more years to come!
